This public auto insurer has a very low turnover rate and very high levels of employee movement within the organization, meaning the number of people entering the organization is low, but the number of people moving from job to job within the organization is very high. Approximately 75% of their employees had a "job change" in one year. The HR group saw this as a critical area to ensure that people were self-selecting positions that they were suited to, as well as identifying career opportunities as a key component of their employer brand. Working with the OD group, Spark + Co helped build a robust and employee-centric career framework, to enable more fluid movement through the organization, supporting the overall talent management strategy and efforts to define the employer brand. The Career Framework is comprised of employee-initiated activities around career planning, development and management. The framework ties closely with the recruitment strategy, leadership development and succession planning activities, performance management and the corporate intranet. Spark + Co was engaged to develop the strategy and models, as well as provide project planning, templates and mentoring for in-house HR staff.
