This large BC-based financial institution had experienced a surge of growth over the past five years and needed a new learning strategy to move from a traditional classroom based training approach to a more de-centralized, blended learning approach. Online learning, workplace technical training and coaching, as well as more informal, and peer-based strategies were introduced. These were so successful that the FTE count in the department increased 30% and resource investment nearly doubled. The organizational turnover rate dropped by 40%, which meant that the department was able to institutionalize new employee learning, which had been a large resource drain, and put time into more seasoned employee needs, which required a more sophisticated blended learning approach.
