Holly MacDonald is the "Spark" at Spark + Co. She is a seasoned Human Resources Strategist with demonstrated success in developing learning, talent management, and employer brand strategies, coupled with solid project management techniques, to craft workable, scalable, business oriented solutions. Holly has over 15 years of experience in organizations with leading-edge people philosophies and strategies and has a reputation for being very resourceful and for "getting things done".
Primarily working in the service industries, Holly has honed her skills in people practices in retail, professional, government and financial services. Holly has managed staff and managers (locally and nationally), budgets, projects and programs. She has a range of practical experiences, creating online help and web tutorials for software products, designing learning and leadership initiatives through to creating an entire human resources department from the ground up. Add a splash of employee communications, event planning and process design, and you can see that she has breadth of experience.
Who is the "+ Co."? Most often the "co", will be people within your organization. Holly feels it is important for organizations to retain a sense of "ownership" with strategies and recognizes that working with consultants can feel like an invasion. Luckily she's a collaborative person by nature. When projects require additional expertise or perspective, Holly will bring in others from her network to assist. Sometimes this will be a partnership on the project, but sometimes it will just be an introduction of people who are interested in a similar idea. Perhaps it will be a recommendation for a service provider that she has used or a referral. Holly is known for making connections between like-minded people.
